[Root — Two Chaupais] Chaccā: You traveled around the four holy places, yet found neither the Supreme Form nor your own true form. Brother, you labored upon the earth in vain; without holy company, that realization did not enter the heart. [Sujana-prabodhinī Simple Commentary] Through the consonant ca, Śrī Granthakartā Jī Mahārāja commands: you may travel around the four holy places—Śrī Jagadīśa, Śrī Rāmeśvara, Śrī Dvārakā, and Śrī Badrinātha Jī—but nowhere will you find the Supreme Form and your own true form; that is, nowhere will you attain either of them. Therefore all the effort of visiting and wandering through the four holy places should be understood as vain. Only when one obtains the company of Śrī Prabhu's people is that bliss attained. In other words, without the company of true persons and worshippers, attainment of the Supreme Form and one's own true form is exceedingly difficult. Without holy company, knowledge of those two forms will not arise in the heart; no settled doctrine will take root there, and the heart will find no peace anywhere. And so forth. ‘Therefore dwell in Mithilā and Avadha, among Rāma's rasika devotees. Abandon deceit and guile; then attain your own devotional color.’
