[मूल — दोहा] घघ्या जग घर छोड़िके, बन में करो निवास। सिय रघुबर छवि उर धरो, छाड़ि जगत की आस॥ [सुजन-प्रबोधिनी सरल टीका] संसार रूपी भ्रममय घर को छोड़कर, निरालम्ब श्री प्रभु प्रिय आश्रय हो, सबसे निराले होकर (वन में निराश्रय निवास करो)। जगत की आशा छोड़ श्री प्रभु की कृपा की आशा रखते हुये, सबसे विलग रहकर श्री सीताराम जी की सुन्दर छवि को अपने हृदय में धारण करो॥ (ध्यान कर मानसी भावना में तत्पर हो जाओ।) भाव यह है कि जब तक जगत की आशा नहीं छोड़ोगे तब तक श्री सीताराम जी की छवि हृदय में कैसे धारण कर सकोगे॥ फिर हृदय में एक ही वस्तु रह सकती है, चाहे जगत की आशा रखे रहो, चाहे श्री प्रभु छवि का भरोसा रक्खो। जैसे— ‘तुलसी दो दो न बने, रवि रजनी इक ठाम॥’ घर में रहकर श्री युगल प्रभु की आशा भरोसा रखते हुये, उन्हीं के परम आनन्दमय ध्यान को मन में रखना ये ही वन का रहना है, और वन में रहते हुये जगत की आशा रखना, ये जग घर में रहना है। इसको भी समझो। इसके अन्तर्गत ये भाव है कि— ‘घर में रह प्रभु की सुध राखों। गृह बैठे पर आनन्द चाखो॥’
[Root — Doha] Ghagghā: Leave the worldly house and dwell in the forest. Hold Sīyā and Raghubara's beauty in your heart, abandoning hope in the world. [Sujana-prabodhinī Simple Commentary] Leave the delusive house that is the world. Become unsupported by anything else, taking beloved Śrī Prabhu as your refuge; become separate from all and dwell without worldly support in the forest. Abandon hope in the world and place your hope in Śrī Prabhu's grace. Remaining apart from all, hold the beautiful form of Śrī Sītā-Rāma Jī in your heart—that is, meditate and become absorbed in inward contemplation. The meaning is that until you abandon hope in the world, how can you hold Śrī Sītā-Rāma Jī's form in the heart? Only one thing can remain in the heart: either continue to keep hope in the world, or place your trust in Śrī Prabhu's form. As the saying has it— ‘Two cannot coexist, says Tulasī: the sun and night in one place.’ To remain at home while placing hope and trust in Śrī Yugala Prabhu, and to keep Their supremely blissful meditation in the mind—this alone is dwelling in the forest. To live in a forest while retaining hope in the world is to remain in the worldly house. Understand this as well. Contained within it is this meaning— ‘Remaining at home, keep remembrance of Prabhu; seated in the house, taste supreme bliss.’
