[Root — Six Chaupais] Ghagghā: Churn the mind, brother; make discerning intellect its mortar. Make the neem wood of knowledge the pestle, by which every inner ailment is worn away. Brother, make purity the fine straining cloth; filter beautifully through the nectarean water of devotion. Wash away all the pulp of desire and its companions; O self, drink that very nectar with loving absorption. Then, intoxicated by the draught of Rāma, you became ecstatic and cast the burden of the world from your head. Cry, ‘Victory, victory, victory to Raghubīra!’ Such a drinker became truly happy. [Sujana-prabodhinī Simple Commentary] Through the consonant gha, Śrī Rasik Alī Jī Mahārāja gives a hint and says: if you are fond of grinding, drinking, and consuming bhāṅg, then all of you should grind and filter the spiritual bhāṅg whose grinding, filtering, and drinking we now explain. By grinding and filtering it, one attains Śrī Prabhu, who is supreme bliss itself. First, therefore, to grind the bhāṅg that is the mind, make intellect in the form of discrimination into the mortar. Then make the neem wood of knowledge into the pestle—that is, the pounding staff—so that all the diseases of the inner faculty, comprising mind, intellect, memory, and ego, are destroyed. Then— Next bring the bright, pure, stainless straining cloth that is purity, and filter the bhāṅg of the mind thoroughly and beautifully through the water that is the lovely nectar of devotion. And— Throw away the pulp—the spent residue—formed by desire and its companions: desire, anger, greed, delusion, pride, and envy. Then the living self will drink, with devotional relish, that same nectar previously described as the water of devotion. What will happen then? Absorbed in the Reality of Śrī Sītā-Rāma Jī, you will become intoxicated and cast from your head the world's burden: all the weight of the world's snares and entanglements. You will cease to be concerned with anything in the world; attached only to Śrī Prabhu's feet, you will become filled with Śrī Prabhu. What more can then be said? Then, absorbed in Śrī Prabhu, you will proclaim with mind, speech, and action, ‘Victory, victory to Śrī Raghubīra Jī!’ Having attained resolute understanding, you will proclaim, ‘Victory to Śrī Sītā-Rāma Jī! Victory!’ In this way one becomes liberated while living: when the intoxication of Rāma's nectar rises, the living self who drinks the intoxicant of Śrī Rāma attains true happiness and becomes perfectly happy. And so forth.
