—है तो फिर संयोग हो जाता है। यही हमारी दशा है। हम आप लोगों से बोलने में गूँगी हूँ और बातें सुनने में बहिरी हूँ अर्थात् आप लोगों से बोलने की और बात सुनने की इच्छा नहीं चाहती है। कथमन्यदिच्छति। अर्थात् उस प्राणप्रीतम को छोड़कर दूसरे तुच्छ वस्तु की इच्छा कौन करे। यह सब भावना का विषय है। भावनामय शरीर से श्रीयुगलसरकार की प्राप्ति और भावनामय माताओं से वार्ता है। श्रीमानस चौपाई— यह गुण साधन तें नहिं होई। तुम्हरी कृपा पाव कोइ कोइ॥ प्रेम की बारह दशा है। अन्तिम बारहवीं दशा का नाम संतप्त दशा है और उसी को पूर्ण अनुराग कहते हैं। सवैया— साधन शून्य लिये शरणागत नैन रँगे अनुराग नसा है। पावक व्योम जलानिल भूतल बाहर भीतर रूप बसा है॥ चितवनाम् बुद्धिमयी मधु ज्यों सखिया मन जाकि फंसा है। वेजसुनाथ सदा रस एकहि या विधिसों संतृप्त दशा है॥ दिव्यमङ्गलविग्रह के विषय में एक आख्यायिका है। एकबार श्रीलक्ष्मीजी कुछ उदास बैठी थीं। भगवान पूछे—प्रिये, उदास क्यों हो? वह बोली—भगवन्! पतिव्रता का धर्म है कि वह अपना सुख कुछ न विचारे और पतिदेव को निरन्तर सुखी रखे, सो हमसे नहीं होता है। जब मैं आपके श्रीचरणकमल की सेवा करने लगती हूँ तो उसके सौन्दर्य, माधुर्य, सुकुमारता, सुगन्धता से स्वयं आनन्द में मग्न हो जाती हूँ। और इसी प्रकार से बाग-सेवा, विहारादिक में भी स्वयं आनन्द से मग्न हो जाती हूँ और इससे उदास हूँ कि—

—and then union occurs again. This is my condition. Toward speaking with you I am mute, and toward hearing other talk I am deaf: I have no desire to speak with you or hear such things. ‘How could one desire anything else?’ Who would desire a second, paltry object after leaving that beloved of one's life? All this pertains to contemplation: through a body made of contemplation one attains the Divine Couple and converses with mothers made of contemplation. The Mānas says, ‘This quality does not arise through practice; through your grace, one person here and there receives it.’ Love has twelve states. The twelfth and final state is called the scorched state, and that alone is complete attachment. A savaiyā says: ‘Without any means, having taken refuge, the eyes are colored with love’s intoxication. In fire, space, water, air, and earth, within and without, the form abides. Made of contemplation and made of understanding, like a bee, the companion’s mind is caught. Vejasunātha, always in the one rasa, is thus in the fully saturated state.’ There is a story concerning the divine auspicious form. Once Lakṣmī sat somewhat dejected. The Lord asked, ‘Beloved, why are you sad?’ She replied, ‘Lord, a devoted wife's dharma is to give no thought to her own happiness and continually keep her husband happy, but I cannot do so. When I begin serving your lotus feet, their beauty, sweetness, delicacy, and fragrance plunge me into bliss. Likewise in garden service, recreation, and all else, I myself become absorbed in joy. I am therefore sad that—’
