Fresh English translation

Seeing Sītā’s Beloved’s beauty in this way, the soul remains staring without blinking. Sītā’s Lord, filled with great affection for that soul, praises its love in every manner: ‘A powerful desire remained in my heart—when would I behold this dear member of the retinue? Your arrival has now become a wondrous event and brought me entirely new glad delight. Fortunate indeed is that lover who has come near me and obtained this vision.’ Thus the youthful Couple, treasury of nectar, speak stainless words that accomplish everything. ‘Always receive rasa in this temple of delight. State the service according to your own taste. Assume countless forms in order to serve and drink ever-new happiness as appropriate.’ Hearing again and again this beautiful speech from their mouths, the soul spreads supreme joy, regards itself as extraordinarily fortunate, and receives the complete happiness of sacred service. I have sung one mode of the secret meeting according to virtues and eligibility. The second is rasa-filled, made of love, and the rasikas’ excellent meeting. When the mind is absorbed in pure devotional feeling and thoroughly refined, it abandons the body, becomes free of fear, and receives its right in Ayodhyā. Avoiding the special hardship of difficult ascent through higher worlds, it reaches incomparable Ayodhyā upon earth in a state of inspired possession. There it beholds and rejoices single-mindedly in the Couple’s sweet and captivating deeds and arts of play, leaving countless formal rules aside. The first liberation was described through an ordered path; the second is rasa-filled and independent. Adorned by excellent residence in famous Ayodhyā, the soul sports in the well-counselled secret. The lovely form of the Pair is the seat of Satyā’s splendour: openly compassionate yet hidden, attractive and made of consciousness and bliss. Whoever desires the glorious Supreme Form and unbroken play in Ayodhyā should destroy every other hope and serve the beauty of Ayodhyā.
