ग्रथ अर्थ-पंचक दोहा— बन्दौं बाग विहार वर, बरधन श्रीगुरु-दृष्टि । बिमल बाध अविरोध मत, बरसावनि बर वृष्टि ॥१॥ श्री सियवर रस रति रसिक, परिकर प्रेम निवास । बन्दौं मन बच काय करि, कीजे कृपा प्रकास ॥२॥ श्री श्री अवध अनूप पद, असद दसन दिल ध्याय । श्री सरयूचित चरन हिय, हरन नमो हरषाय ॥३॥ श्री सुन्दरि सुखमा सदन, पद पंकज सियराम । बार-बार बन्दौं हृदय, दायक दुति विश्राम ॥४॥ अमल अर्थ पंचक परम, प्रेम प्रबोध निवास । सरल बचन रस रचन में, बरनौं सहित हुलास ॥५॥ पांच अर्थ बर बोध बिनु, व्याकुल जीव कदम्ब । सुख सरसे केहि भांति तहँ, जहँ नहिं सर अवलम्ब ॥६॥ सुमन मुमुक्षु मानप्रद, समीचीन मत सार । धनि-धनि मनन करत हिय, विगलित विविध प्रकार ॥७॥
Fresh English translation
The composition called The Five Truths. I bow to the excellent pleasure-garden and to the gracious sight of the revered guru: may that pure, unobstructed teaching rain down its choicest shower. I bow with mind, speech, and body to the devotees who delight in loving attachment to Sītā’s Lord and dwell in the love of his retinue; may they reveal their grace. I meditate inwardly upon the matchless feet of holy Ayodhyā and joyfully bow to the feet of sacred Sarayū, which remove distress. Again and again I bow in my heart to the lotus feet of Sītā and Rāma, the abode of the beautiful Lady’s loveliness, radiant and repose-giving. With gladness I shall describe in simple, rasa-filled words the spotless and supreme Five Truths, the dwelling-place of love and awakened understanding. Without excellent knowledge of these five truths, multitudes of souls remain agitated: how can happiness become richly present where there is no sound support? This teaching is the flower of sound doctrine and bestows honour upon seekers of liberation. Blessed indeed are those who ponder it in their hearts, for their many distortions melt away.
