That We Should Renounce It

English Translation · I.P. 864

LAMPS and drums and dinner are ordered; the bride is arrayed and handed to her husband. The husband takes his bride home; the bridegroom is worshipped and bathed. The father and mother arc complimented; everyone begs them to finish the programme. “ I jet us go on with the presents and bathing.” ; O why do you forget the spirit within ? He besieges the marriage guests with pleasures; he bathes them till they look like vessels dipped in oil. Tuka says, You are collecting spittle: you are making a good provision for hell.
