THE right enjoyment of pleasures is renunciation; renunciation leaves room for pleasure; the secret is found in this paradox ; otherwise from pious acts themselves would proceed impiety. What keeps God away from us, that is sin; so put aside false ideas. Tuka says, All else is false respect; let your heart dwell on true gain.
