The Sense of Sin
॥
English Translation · I.P. 370
MY spirit is carried away by desire; it suffers me not to look on thy face; fain would my heart break for sorrow. Why bast thou made me like a young wife in her husband’s house ? I have no power, no authority of my own. In the morning when I feel I ought to visit thee, I cannot steal to thee, my desire continues unsatisfied. Thus it seems that all my toils are wasted; all that I have spent is lost, says Tuka.
Tr. J. Nelson Fraser & K.B. Marathe (1909)
