Nothing is Gained by Works of Law or Austerities

English Translation · I.P. 335

SO long as the root is left we find pain constantly growing; but surely it should not be the yogi's practice to increase our troubles. Why they choose to do so, I cannot tell, nor what they are like or what the habit of their minds is. Tuka says, It is in vain that we vex our minds.

Tr. J. Nelson Fraser & K.B. Marathe (1909)
