तुम तजि हौं कासों कहौं, और को हितु मेरे? दीनबंधु! सेवक, सखा, आरत, अनाथपर सहज छोह केहि केरे॥ १॥ बहुत पतित भवनिधि तरे बिनु तरि बिनु बेरे। कृपा-कोप-सतिभायहू, धोखेहु-तिरछेहु, राम! तिहारेहि हेरे॥ २॥ जो चितवनि सौंधी लगै, चितइये सबेरे। तुलसिदास अपनाइये, कीजै न ढील, अब जिवन-अवधि अति नेरे॥ ३॥

Apart from you, to whom can I speak, and who else seeks my good? Friend of the lowly, who else naturally shows such tenderness to a servant, a friend, one in distress, or an orphan? (1) Many fallen souls crossed the ocean of becoming without a boat or raft. Rāma, you merely looked upon them—whether with grace or anger, at their true feeling or their deception, even with a sidelong glance. (2) Whichever kind of glance seems pleasing to you, look upon me with it early. Accept Tulsidas and do not delay, for the span of life has now drawn very near its end. (3)
