जैसो हौं तैसो राम रावरो जन, जनि परिहरिये। कृपासिंधु, कोसलधनी! सरनागत-पालक, ढरनि आपनी ढरिये॥ १॥ हौं तौ बिगरायल और को, बिगरो न बिगरिये। तुम सुधारि आये सदा सबकी सबही बिधि, अब मेरियो सुधरिये॥ २॥ जग हँसिहै मेरे संग्रहे, कत इहि डर डरिये। कपि-केवट कीन्हे सखा जेहि सील, सरल चित, तेहि सुभाउ अनुसरिये॥ ३॥ अपराधी तऊ आपनो, तुलसी न बिसरिये। टूटियो बाँह गरे परै, फूटेहु बिलोचन पीर होत हित करिये॥ ४॥
However I am, Rāma, I am your servant; do not cast me away. Ocean of Compassion, Lord of Kosala, protector of those who seek refuge—act according to your own established way. (1) I have already been spoiled by others; do not make the ruined one still worse. You have always reformed everyone in every way; now reform me as well. (2) The world may laugh when you accept me, but why should you fear that fear? Follow toward me that same virtuous, simple-hearted nature by which you made the monkeys and the boatman your friends. (3) Though an offender, I am still your own; do not forget Tulsi. Even a broken arm is bound against the neck, and when a blinded eye aches, one still tries to heal it. (4)
