मेरो कह्यो सुनि पुनि भावै तोहि करि सो। चारिहु बिलोचन बिलोकु तू तिलोक महँ तेरो तिहु काल कहु को है हितू हरि-सो॥ १॥ नये-नये नेह अनुभये देह-गेह बसि, परखे प्रपंची प्रेम, परत उघरि सो। सुहृद-समाज दगाबाजिहीको सौदा-सूत, जब जाको काज तब मिलै पाँय परि सो॥ २॥ बिबुध सयाने, पहिचाने कैधौं नाहीं नीके, देत एक गुन, लेत कोटि गुन भरि सो। करम-धरम श्रम-फल रघुबर बिनु, राखको सो होम है, ऊसर कैसो बरिसो॥ ३॥ आदि-अंत-बीच भलो भलो करै सबहीको जाको जस लोक-बेद रह्यो है बगरि-सो। सीतापति सारिखो न साहिब सील-निधान, कैसे कल परै सठ! बैठो सो बिसरि-सो॥ ४॥ जीवको जीवन-प्रान, प्रानको परम हित प्रीतम, पुनीतकृत नीचन निदरि सो। तुलसी! तोको कृपालु जो कियो कोसलपालु, चित्रकूटको चरित्र चेतु चित करि सो॥ ५॥

(1) Living amid body and household, you experienced ever-new attachments and tested worldly love; when exposed, it proved false. This society of friends is a bargaining-thread for deceivers: each comes and falls at another's feet only when he has some business of his own. (2) The gods are very clever—have you still not recognized them properly? They give one favor and take back millions in return. Action, religion, labor, and their fruits without Raghubara are like offering ashes into the fire or rain falling on barren ground. (3) From beginning through middle to end, he alone does good for everyone; his fame has spread through the world and the Veda. There is no master and treasury of virtue like Sītā's Lord. Fool, how can you rest at ease after sitting here and forgetting him? (4) He is the living breath of the creature, the supreme benefactor and beloved of life itself, the holy Lord who purified the lowly without despising them. Tulsi, remember in your heart the deeds at Citrakūṭ by which the compassionate Lord of Kosala made you his own. (5)
