नाथ नीके कै जानिबी ठीक जन-जीयकी। रावरो भरोसो नाह कै सु-प्रेम-नेम लियो रुचिर रहनि रुचि मति गति तीयकी॥ १॥ कुकृत-सुकृत बस सब ही सों संग परयो, परखी पराई गति, आपने हूँ कीयकी। मेरे भलेको गोसाईं! पोचको, न सोच-संक हौंहूँ किये कहौं सौंह साँची सीय-पीयकी॥ २॥ ग्यानहू-गिराके स्वामी, बाहर-अंतरजामी, यहाँ क्यों दुरेगी बात मुखकी औ हीयकी? तुलसी तिहारो, तुमहीं पै तुलसीके हित, राखि कहौं हौं तो जो पै ह्वहौं माखी घीयकी॥ ३॥
Lord, know well the exact state of your servant's heart. Having made reliance on you its lord, my understanding took the vow of true love and adopted a woman's lovely conduct, taste, judgment, and course. (1) Under the sway of evil and good deeds I had to associate with everyone; I tested the ways of others as well as my own. Master, I have neither worry nor doubt about whether good or harm comes to me. I say this even for myself, swearing a true oath by Sītā's Beloved. (2) Master even of knowledge and speech, knower of both outer and inner things—how could anything said by mouth or held in the heart be hidden here? Tulsi is yours, and you alone care for Tulsi. If I speak while concealing anything, may I become like a fly fallen into ghee. (3)
