Let whoever trusts another do so. For me, Rama’s Name is the wish-tree in Kali, bearing the fruit of blessedness. (1) Action, worship, knowledge, and Vedic doctrine are all true in every way; but, like the blind man of the rainy season, I see only the color green. (2) Like a dog, I kept licking leaf-plates, yet my stomach was never filled. Now, remembering the Name, I see the nectar of the Name served before me. (3) For worldly interest and the highest good, there is no uncertainty of ‘elephant or man.’ It is heard that the monkey host crossed the ocean by making a bridge of stones. (4) Wherever one’s love and trust lie, there one’s purpose is fulfilled. For me the two letters are mother and father; I am a child stubbornly insisting before them. (5) Śaṅkara is witness: if I speak after concealing anything, may my tongue burn and melt away. Tulsi has understood that his good lies in Rama’s Name alone. (6)
