कबहुँ रघुबंसमनि! सो कृपा करहुगे। जेहि कृपा व्याध, गज, बिप्र, खल नर तरे, तिन्हहि सम मानि मोहि नाथ उद्धरहुगे॥ १॥ जोनि बहु जनमि किये करम खल बिबिध बिधि, अधम आचरन कछु हृदय नहि धरहुगे। दीनहित! अजित सरबग्य समरथ प्रनतपाल चित मृदुल निज गुननि अनुसरहुगे॥ २॥ मोह-मद-मान-कामादि खलमंडली सकुल निरमूल करि दुसह दुख हरहुगे। जोग-जप-जग्य-बिग्यान ते अधिक अति, अमल दृढ़ भगति दै परम सुख भरहुगे॥ ३॥ मंदजन-मौलिमनि सकल, साधन-हीन, कुटिल मन, मलिन जिय जानि जो डरहुगे। दासतुलसी बेद-बिदित बिरुदावली बिमल जस नाथ! केहि भाँति बिस्तरहुगे॥ ४॥
When, O jewel of Raghu’s line, will you show me that grace—the grace by which the hunter, the elephant, the brahmin, and wicked men crossed over? Lord, regarding me as equal to them, will you deliver me? (1) Born in many wombs, I have done wicked deeds in many ways. Will you keep none of my base conduct in your heart? Friend of the poor, unconquered, all-knowing, almighty guardian of the surrendered, will you, tender-hearted, act according to your own qualities? (2) Will you uproot, families and all, the vile host of delusion, pride, self-regard, lust, and the rest, and remove unbearable sorrow? Will you give me stainless, steadfast devotion, far greater than yoga, repetition, sacrifice, and realization, and fill me with supreme joy? (3) If, knowing me to be the crown-jewel of all dull people, devoid of every discipline, crooked in mind and stained in heart, you should hesitate, then, Lord, how will servant Tulsi extend your Veda-renowned titles and stainless fame?
