राग कान्हरा जो मन लागै रामचरन अस। देह-गेह-सुत-बित-कलत्र महँ मगन होत बिनु जतन किये जस॥ १॥ द्वंद्वहित, गतमान, ग्यानरत, बिषय-बिरत खटाइ नाना कस। सुखनिधान सुजान कोसलपति ह्वै प्रसन्न, कहु, क्यों न होहि बस॥ २॥ सर्वभूत-हित, निर्व्यलीक चित, भगति-प्रेम दृढ़ नेम, एकरस। तुलसिदास यह होइ तबहिं जब द्रबै ईस, जेहि हतो सीसदस॥ ३॥

Raga Kanhara If the mind becomes attached to Rama’s feet as effortlessly as it is immersed in body, house, sons, wealth, and wife—(1) it becomes free of opposites and pride, absorbed in knowledge and averse to objects as one recoils from sourness in bronze. Tell me, why would the wise Lord of Kosala, treasury of joy, not become pleased and subject to it? (2) Concerned for all beings, guileless in heart, steadfast and constant in loving devotion—Tulsi, this happens only when the Lord who slew the ten-headed one melts in grace. (3)
