Look toward me somehow, Ocean of Grace. I have no other place; my one sure support is yours alone. (1) My understanding has become duller than a thousand stones. To whom can I speak? Who else has given deliverance even to stone? (2) I wish to kindle a sacrificial fire of love for your feet, as Kaushika performed his sacrifice; seeing the wicked defilements of Kali, I have become terribly afraid. (3) Terrified by mighty Bali, monkey-king of my deeds, I desire, Lord of the orphaned, to dwell beneath your arm. (4) Like Vibhishana struck by Ravana, I am struck by the great Ravana of delusion. Save me, Lord of Tulsi, save me! I am scorched by the three afflictions. (5)
