रघुपति-भगति करत कठिनाई। कहत सुगम करनी अपार जानै सोइ जेहि बनि आई॥ १॥ जो जेहि कला कुसल ताकहँ सोइ सुलभ सदा सुखकारी। सफरी सनमुख जल-प्रवाह सुरसरी बहै गज भारी॥ २॥ ज्यों सर्करा मिलै सिकता महँ, बलतें न कोउ बिलगावै। अति रसग्य सूच्छम पिपीलिका, बिनु प्रयास ही पावे॥ ३॥ सकल दृश्य निज उदर मेलि, सोवै निद्रा तजि जोगी। सोइ हरिपद अनुभवै परम सुख, अतिसय द्वैत-बियोगी॥ ४॥ सोक मोह भय हरष दिवस-निसि देस-काल तहँ नाहीं। तुलसिदास यहि दसाहीन संसय निरमूल न जाहीं॥ ५॥
Devotion to Raghupati is difficult to practice. It is easy to describe but immeasurable in the doing; only one who has accomplished it knows. (1) Whatever art one masters is easy and always joy-giving to that person. A little fish swims against the Ganga’s current, while a massive elephant is swept away. (2) If sugar is mixed into sand, no one can separate it by force; but a tiny ant that knows its flavor obtains it without effort. (3) The yogi who gathers the whole visible world into his belly and sleeps after abandoning sleep—he alone, utterly separated from duality, directly experiences the supreme bliss of Hari’s station. (4) There, grief, delusion, fear, elation, day and night, place and time do not exist. Tulsidas, without this state, doubt is not destroyed at the root. (5)
