कलि नाम कामतरु रामको। दलनिहार दारिद दुकाल दुख, दोष घोर घन घामको॥ १॥ नाम लेत दाहिनो होत मन, बाम बिधाता बामको। कहत मुनीस महेस महातम, उलटे सूधे नामको॥ २॥ भलो लोक-परलोक तासु जाके बल ललित-ललामको। तुलसी जग जानियत नामते सोच न कूच मुकामको॥ ३॥
In the Kali age, Rama’s name is the wish-fulfilling tree. It destroys poverty, famine, sorrow, fault, dense dark cloud, and burning sun. (1) On taking the Name, the mind turns favorable, and adverse fate becomes favorable to the adverse. The lord of sages and Mahesha proclaim the greatness of the Name, reversed and direct. (2) This world and the next are good for one who has the strength of that exquisitely lovely Name. Tulsi, know that through the Name there is no anxiety either about departing from the world or remaining in it. (3)
