Serve the excellent master Rama, giver of happiness, gracious, wise, heroic, pure, and as beautiful as millions of Love-gods. (1) Sharada, Shesha, and saints recount his greatness, and the Sama sings his hosts of virtues. The moon-crested Shiva lovingly remembers his name and longs for love of him. (2) He felt not a trace of distress when going to a foreign land, yet shrinks with modesty from even a single bow. Vibhishana is the famous witness: he sits now in an unshakable realm. (3) Service is easy; he stays awake in the palace of every servant through all four ages and every watch. Seeing faults he does not grow angry; hearing a servant’s host of virtues, he is delighted. (4) By worshiping him, creatures of animal birth and those in tamasic bodies became ornaments of the three worlds. Tulsi, for one who does not worship such a Lord, fate itself is adverse. (5)
