My Mind, Heed My Teaching

मन मेरे, मानहि सिख मेरी। जो निजु भगति चहै हरि केरी॥ १॥ उर आनहि प्रभु-कृत हित जेते। सेवहि ते जे अपनपौ चेते॥ २॥ दुख-सुख अरु अपमान-बड़ाई। सब सम लेखहि बिपति बिहाई॥ ३॥ सुनु सठ काल-ग्रसित यह देही। जनि तेहि लागि बिदूषहि केही॥ ४॥ तुलसिदास बिनु असि मति आये। मिलहिं न राम कपट लौ लाये॥ ५॥

My mind, heed my teaching if you desire Hari’s own devotion. (1) Bring into your heart every good the Lord has done; serve those who remain mindful that they belong to him. (2) Regard pain and joy, insult and honor, all alike, and adversity will pass away. (3) Listen, fool: this body is already seized by Time; do not revile anyone for its sake. (4) Tulsidas says: until such understanding arises, Rama is not found, however long one clings to deceit. (5)
