मैं जानी, हरिपद-रति नाहीं। सपनेहुँ नहिं बिराग मन माहीं॥ १॥ जे रघुबीर चरन अनुरागे। तिन्ह सब भोग रोगसम त्यागे॥ २॥ काम-भुजंग डसत जब जाही। बिषय-नींब कटु लगत न ताही॥ ३॥ असमंजस अस हृदय बिचारी। बढ़त सोच नित नूतन भारी॥ ४॥ जब कब राम-कृपा दुख जाई। तुलसिदास नहिं आन उपाई॥ ५॥
I know that I have no love for Hari’s feet; not even in a dream is there dispassion in my mind. (1) Those who love Raghubira’s feet have abandoned every enjoyment as though it were disease. (2) When the serpent of desire bites someone, even the bitter neem of sense-objects does not taste bitter to him. (3) Reflecting on this perplexity in my heart, a heavy and ever-new anxiety increases each day. (4) Whenever Rama’s grace comes, the pain will go; Tulsidas has no other remedy. (5)
