Rāga Bihāga Bilāvala Excellent is my deity, Rama, Lord of Kosala: lovely lotus eyes, a most beautiful dark form. (1) He shines forever beside Sita, his beauty surpassing countless Loves; broad arms hold arrow and bow, and a handsome quiver rests at his waist. (2) He desires no offering or ritual worship—he desires love alone. Mere remembrance pleases him, and he purifies every way. (3) He gives every joy and burns away pain, the companion of afflicted people; he accepts virtues and removes sins and faults—such an ocean of compassion is he. (4) The Vedas and Puranas say he is always complete in every place and time: Lord of all, dwelling in all, knowing the course of every heart. (5) Why form millions of desires and worship many gods? Tulsidas says: serve the one whom Shankara serves. (6)
