I will give myself to Janaki’s beloved. My heart says: leaving the feet of Rama and Sita, I will now go nowhere else. (1) This conviction has arisen in my heart: turned away from the Lord’s feet, I shall find no happiness even in a dream. I will give this very teaching to the mind and all who dwell in this body. (2) With my ears I will hear no other story; with my tongue I will sing of no other. I will restrain my eyes from looking elsewhere, and bow this head to the Lord alone. (3) Having made kinship and love with the Master, I will let every other kinship and love flow away. Tulsi says: in this world, the one whose servant I am called must bear this entire burden. (4)
