यह बिनती रघुबीर गुसाई। और आस-बिस्वास-भरोसो, हरो जीव-जड़ताई॥ १॥ चहौं न सुगति, सुमति, संपति कछु, रिधि-सिधि बिपुल बड़ाई। हेतु-रहित अनुराग राम-पद बढ़े अनुदिन अधिकाई॥ २॥ कुटिल करम लै जाहि मोहि जहँ जहँ अपनी बरिआई। तहँ तहँ जनि छिन छोह छाँड़ियो, कमठ-अंडकी नाई॥ ३॥ या जगमें जहँ लगि या तनुकी प्रीति प्रतीति सगाई। ते सब तुलसिदास प्रभु ही सों होहि सिमिटि इक ठाई॥ ४॥
This is my petition, Lord Raghubira: remove the soul’s dull folly—its hope, faith, and reliance on anything else. (1) I desire neither a good destiny nor sound understanding, no wealth, prosperity, powers, or immense renown. May causeless love for Rama’s feet increase more and more each day. (2) Wherever my crooked deeds carry me by their force, there, in every birth, do not abandon your tenderness for even a moment—like the turtle with her eggs. (3) Whatever love, trust, and kinship this body has anywhere in the world—Tulsidas prays that all of it contract into one place and rest in the Lord alone. (4)
