Lord—you are compassionate and I am lowly; you are the giver and I the beggar. I am a notorious sinner, and you destroy masses of sin. (1) You are Lord of the orphaned—and who is as orphaned as I? None is as afflicted as I, and none removes affliction as you do. (2) You are Brahman and I the living soul; you are Master and I the servant. Father, mother, guru and friend—you are my benefactor in every way. (3) Many bonds join you and me; accept whichever pleases you. Only let Tulsi somehow, compassionate Lord, obtain refuge at your feet. (4)
