Raga Vibhasa—Janaki’s Lord awakens the discerning soul through grace. Awake, abandon dullness, and love Shri Hari. Reflect, forsake corruption and worship generous Ramachandra, ocean of blessedness and friend of the lowly—so the Veda declares. (1) You slept a long, vast time through the moonless night made of delusion and, fallen into dream, lost that incomparable true form. Now dawn has come and the sun of knowledge shines forth; the dense darkness of latent desire, attachment, delusion and hatred has receded. (2) The thieves intoxication and pride flee, knowing it is morning; the demon-hosts of desire, anger, greed and agitation are afraid of themselves. At the sight of Raghubara’s majesty, anguish and sin pass away, and the water of love drives the three torments far off. (3) Hearing the grave voice with their ears, deeply steadfast heroes awaken; all the saints honor noble dispassion and contentment. Tulsidas, the compassionate Lord saw the living servants distraught, shattered the net of becoming and performed the supreme auspicious deed. (4)
