ऐसेहू साहबकी सेवा सों होत चोरु रे। आपनी न बूझ, न कहै को राँडरोरु रे॥ १॥ मुनि-मन-अगम, सुगम माइ-बापु सों। कृपासिंधु, सहज सखा, सनेही आपु सों॥ २॥ लोक-बेद-बिदित बड़ो न रघुनाथ सों। सब दिन सब देस, सबहिके साथ सों॥ ३॥ स्वामी सरबग्य सों चलै न चोरी चारकी। प्रीति पहिचानि यह रीति दरबारकी॥ ४॥ काय न कलेस-लेस, लेत मान मनकी। सुमिरे सकुचि रुचि जोगवत जनकी॥ ५॥ रीझे बस होत, खीझे देत निज धाम रे। फलत सकल फल कामतरु नाम रे॥ ६॥ बेंचे खोटो दाम न मिलै, न राखे काम रे। सोऊ तुलसी निवाज्यो ऐसो राजाराम रे॥ ७॥
You shrink even from serving such a master! You possess no understanding of your own and heed no one’s words—useless clod! (1) Beyond the minds of sages, he is as approachable as mother and father: ocean of mercy, friend by nature, loving of his own accord. (2) World and Veda proclaim that none is greater than Raghunatha; on every day, in every land, he is with everyone. (3) No servant’s theft can pass before the all-knowing Master. He recognizes love—this is the custom of his court. (4) His service brings not the least bodily hardship; he accepts the heart’s intention. When remembered with love, he grows shy and tends his servant’s desire. (5) Pleased, he comes under one’s sway; displeased, he gives his own abode. His name is a wish-fulfilling tree bearing every fruit. (6) Tulsi, who would fetch no false coin if sold and serves no use if kept, was favored even so—such is King Rama. (7)
