देव— संत-संतापहर, विश्व-विश्रामकर, राम कामारि, अभिरामकारी। शुद्ध बोधायतन, सच्चिदानंदघन, सज्जनानंद-वर्धन, खरारी॥ १॥ शील-समता-भवन, विषमता-मति-शमन, राम, रामारमन, रावनारी। खड्ग, कर चर्मवर, वर्मधर, रुचिर कटि तूण, शर-शक्ति-सारंगधारी॥ २॥ सत्यसंधान, निर्वानप्रद, सर्वहित, सर्वगुण-ज्ञान-विज्ञानशाली। सघन-तम-घोर-संसार-भर-शर्वरी नाम दिवसेश खर-किरणमाली॥ ३॥ तपन तीच्छन तरुन तीव्र तापघ्न, तपरूप, तनभूप, तमपर, तपस्वी। मान-मद-मदन-मत्सर-मनोरथ-मथन, मोह-अंभोधि-मंदर, मनस्वी॥ ४॥ वेद-विख्यात, वरदेश, वामन, विरज, विमल, वागीश, वैकुंठस्वामी। काम-क्रोधादिमर्दन, विवर्धन, छमा-शांति-विग्रह, विहगराज-गामी॥ ५॥ परम पावन, पाप-पुंज-मुंजाटवी-अनल इव निमिष निर्मूलकर्त्ता। भुवन-भूषण, दूषणारि-भुवनेश, भूनाथ, श्रुतिमाथ जय भुवनभर्त्ता॥ ६॥ अमल, अविचल, अकल, सकल, संतप्त-कलि-विकलता-भंजनानंदरासी। उरगनायक-शयन, तरुणपंकज-नयन, छीरसागर-अयन, सर्ववासी॥ ७॥ सिद्ध-कवि-कोविदानंद-दायक पदद्वंद्व मंदात्ममनुजैर्दुरापं। यत्र संभूत अतिपूत जल सुरसरी दर्शनादेव अपहरति पापं॥ ८॥ नित्य निर्मुक्त, संयुक्तगुण, निर्गुणानंद, भगवंत, न्यामक, नियंता। विश्व-पोषण-भरण, विश्व-कारण-करण, शरण तुलसीदास त्रास-हंता॥ ९॥
Lord—Rama removes saints’ anguish and gives the world repose, delights desire’s foe and grants delight; abode of pure awakening, mass of being-consciousness-bliss, increaser of the good people’s joy, enemy of Khara. (1) Dwelling of character and equality, ending the mind of inequality, Rama, Lakshmi’s beloved and Ravana’s foe; bearing sword, fine shield and armor, with lovely quiver at his waist, arrows, spear and Sharnga. (2) True to his aim, giver of liberation and good of all, rich in every virtue, knowledge and realization; his name is the sun with fierce rays against the dense dark night filled with dreadful becoming. (3) A sharp young sun that destroys fierce heat, himself heat, ruler in a body, beyond darkness, ascetic; crusher of honor, pride, desire, envy and schemes, Mandara to the ocean of delusion, great-minded. (4) Known in the Veda, boon-giving Lord, Vamana, stainless, pure, master of speech and Lord of Vaikuntha; crusher of desire, anger and the rest, increaser of forgiveness, embodiment of peace, riding the king of birds. (5) Supremely purifying, in an instant uprooting masses of sin like fire through a munja forest; ornament of worlds, Dushana’s foe, Lord and master of worlds, crown of Veda—victory to the sustainer of worlds. (6) Stainless, unmoving, partless yet all, mass of bliss breaking Kali’s burning distress; resting on the serpent king, young-lotus-eyed, dwelling in the milk ocean and dwelling in all. (7) His paired feet give joy to Siddhas, poets and learned men, yet are hard for dull-minded humans to obtain. From them arose the supremely pure celestial river, whose very sight removes sin. (8) Forever wholly free, joined with qualities yet the bliss beyond qualities, Lord, ruler and controller; nourisher and sustainer of the world, cause behind the world’s cause, destroyer of fear—Tulsidas takes refuge.
