Giver of every fortune, treasury of blessing on every side, all and Lord of all, delight of all; lovely-formed bee drinking nectar from Shiva’s heart-lotus, jewel among kings—I bow to Rama. (1) Abode of every joy and multitude of virtues, place of repose, whose supremely pure name gives every treasure; stainless, tranquil, utterly pure, dwelling of awakening, remover of anger and pride, home of compassion. (2) Unconquered, unconditioned, beyond senses, unmanifest, all-pervading, one, faultless, unborn and without a second; appearing with nature yet the manifest supreme Self, highest benefactor and endless mover—I bow to the Fourth. (3) Bearer of earth, beautiful, Lakshmi’s excellent Lord, whose beauty surpasses beauty’s limit and crushes Love’s pride; hard to obtain, behold, reason about or cross, remover of becoming, yet accessible and reached through a tender disposition. (4) Maker, lover and observer of truth, ever nourished, content and remover of distress; armored in dharma, sole knower of Brahman-action, revered by Brahmins and dear to Brahman-loving people, O Murari. (5) Eternal, without possessiveness, forever free and prideless Hari, mass of knowledge and root of being-consciousness-bliss; guardian of all and overseer of all-consuming time, immutable, secretly radiant and favorable to devotees. (6) Perfection, practitioner and goal; spoken word and speaker; mantra, repeater and repeated; creator of creation; highest cause, lotus-naveled, cloud-bodied, with qualities and without, seer of everything seen. (7) All-pervading as space, stainless Brahman, boon-giving Lord, Vaikuntha, Vamana and stainless celibate; forever praised by Siddhas and hosts of gods, breaking hypocrisy and uprooting it. (8) Mass of complete bliss, removing delusion, ignorance and the disorder of qualities. Tulsidas takes refuge in word, mind and deed; you are Agastya to his ocean of fear. (9)
