देव— कोशलाधीश, जगदीश, जगदेकहित, अमितगुण, विपुल विस्तार लीला। गायंति तव चरित सुपवित्र श्रुति-शेष-शुक-शंभु-सनकादि मुनि मननशीला॥ १॥ वारिचर-वपुष धरि भक्त-निस्तारपर, धरणिकृत नाव महिमातिगुर्वी। सकल यज्ञांशमय उग्र विग्रह क्रोड़, मर्दि दनुजेश उद्धरण उर्वी॥ २॥ कमठ अति विकट तनु कठिन पृष्ठोपरी, भ्रमत मंदर कंडु-सुख मुरारी। प्रकटकृत अमृत, गो, इंदिरा, इंदु, वृंदारकावृंद-आनंदकारी॥ ३॥ मनुज-मुनि-सिद्ध-सुर-नाग-त्रासक, दुष्ट दनुज द्विज-धर्म-मरजाद-हर्त्ता। अतुल मृगराज-वपुधरित, विदरित अरि, भक्त प्रहलाद-अहलाद-कर्त्ता॥ ४॥ छलन बलि कपट-वटुरूप वामन ब्रह्म, भुवन पर्यंत पद तीन करणं। चरण-नख-नीर-त्रैलोक-पावन परम, विबुध-जननी-दुसह-शोक-हरणं॥ ५॥ क्षत्रियाधीश-करिनिकर-नव-केसरी, परशुधर विप्र-सस-जलदरूपं। बीस भुजदंड दससीस खंडन चंड वेग सायक नौमि राम भूपं॥ ६॥ भूमिभर-भार-हर, प्रकट परमातमा, ब्रह्म नररूपधर भक्तहेतू। वृष्णि-कुल-कुमुद-राकेश राधारमण, कंस-बंसाटवी-धूमकेतू॥ ७॥ प्रबल पाखंड महि-मंडलाकुल देखि, निंद्यकृत अखिल मख कर्म-जालं। शुद्ध बोधैकघन, ज्ञान-गुणधाम, अज बौद्ध-अवतार बंदे कृपालं॥ ८॥ कालकलिजनित-मल-मलिनमन सर्व नर मोह-निशि-निबिड़यवनांधकारं। विष्णुयश पुत्र कलकी दिवाकर उदित दासतुलसी हरण विपतिभारं॥ ९॥
Lord of Kosala and Lord of the world, the world’s sole benefactor, with measureless virtues and widely extended play—Veda, Shesha, Shuka, Shambhu, Sanaka and contemplative sages sing your supremely sacred deeds. (1) Taking a water-creature’s body, intent on rescuing your devotee, you made the earth a boat of immensely weighty glory. As the fierce Boar, formed of every sacrifice’s portion, you crushed the demon king and raised the earth. (2) As the vast Tortoise, the turning Mandara upon your hard back brought the pleasure of scratching. You brought forth nectar, the cow, Lakshmi and the moon, delighting hosts of gods. (3) When a wicked demon terrorized humans, sages, Siddhas, gods and Nagas and destroyed Brahmin dharma’s bounds, you assumed the peerless Man-Lion body, tore the foe apart and delighted devotee Prahlada. (4) As Brahman in the deceitful dwarf form Vamana, you outwitted Bali and made three strides to the limits of the worlds. Water from your toenail supremely purified the three worlds and removed the gods’ mother’s unbearable grief. (5) As the new lion against the elephant-host of Kshatriya lords, axe-bearing Brahmin and cloud to the Chandra lineage; as King Rama I bow to your fierce swift arrows that severed ten heads and twenty arms. (6) Removing earth’s heavy burden, the supreme Self manifested as Brahman in human form for devotees. As Radha’s beloved, full moon to the water-lilies of the Vrishni clan, you were fire to the forest of Kamsa’s lineage. (7) Seeing powerful hypocrisy trouble the earth, you condemned the entire web of sacrificial acts. I bow to the compassionate unborn Buddha incarnation, pure mass of awakening, abode of knowledge and virtue. (8) When minds are stained by death and Kali and the night of delusion is dense foreign darkness, may Kalki, Vishnuyasha’s son, rise like the sun and remove servant Tulsi’s burden of calamity. (9)
