हरति सब आरती आरती रामकी। दहन दुख-दोष, निरमूलिनी कामकी॥ १॥ सुरभ सौरभ धूप दीपबर मालिका। उड़त अघ-बिहँग सुनि ताल करतालिका॥ २॥ भक्त-हदि-भवन, अज्ञान-तम-हारिनी। बिमल बिग्यानमय तेज-बिस्तारिनी॥ ३॥ मोह-मद-कोह-कलि-कंज-हिमजामिनी। मुक्तिकी दूतिका, देह-दुति दामिनी॥ ४॥ प्रनत-जन-कुमुद-बन-इंदु-कर-जालिका। तुलसि अभिमान-महिषेस बहु कालिका॥ ५॥
Rama’s worship removes every affliction, burns suffering and fault, and uproots desire. (1) It is fragrant incense of fine perfume and a garland of excellent lamps; hearing the rhythm of clapping hands, the birds of sin fly away. (2) Within the house of the devotee’s heart it removes the darkness of ignorance and spreads stainless, realization-filled light. (3) It is a winter night to the lotuses of delusion, pride, anger and Kali, a messenger to liberation, its bodily radiance lightning. (4) It is a net of moonbeams for the water-lily grove of those who bow, and many Kalikas against Tulsi’s buffalo-demon of pride. (5)
