Mind, perform this worship of Rama Raghubira, Govinda, mass of bliss, remover of sorrow and conflict. (1) Offer as incense the conviction that Hari is the form of all moving and unmoving things, all-pervading and ever-present. Light the lamp of self-knowledge; anger, pride and delusion’s darkness departs, and mature ego-filled movements of mind fade away. (2) Offer as excellent sacred food an exceedingly clear, noble disposition, supremely satisfying to Lakshmi’s Lord. Offer love as betel, removing every thorn of doubt and the seeds of vast worldly desire. (3) Fill the ten wicks of the senses with the ghee of good and evil actions, ignite them in renunciation’s fire and let purity’s light shine. Offer to the indweller of the world the lamp-festival of devotion, dispassion and realized knowledge. (4) In the stainless house of the heart make tranquility a fine couch and lay King Shri Rama down to rest. Appoint forgiveness, compassion and the rest as principal attendants; where Hari dwells, dividing maya does not. (5) Sanaka and the others, the Vedas, Shesha, Shiva, divine sages and all seers of truth remain devoted to this worship. Whoever performs it crosses and casts off the stains beginning with desire, says Tulsi, servant of the pure-minded. (6)
