सब सोच-बिमोचन चित्रकूट। कलिहरन, करन कल्यान बूट॥ १॥ सुचि अवनि सुहावनि आलबाल। कानन बिचित्र, बारी बिसाल॥ २॥ मंदाकिनि-मालिनि सदा सींच। बर बारि, बिषम नर-नारि नीच॥ ३॥ साखा सुसृंग, भूरुह-सुपात। निरझर मधुबर, मृदु मलय बात॥ ४॥ सुक, पिक, मधुकर, मुनिबर बिहारु। साधन प्रसून फल चारि चारु॥ ५॥ भव-घोरघाम-हर सुखद छाँह। थप्यो थिर प्रभाव जानकी-नाह॥ ६॥ साधक-सुपथिक बड़े भाग पाइ। पावत अनेक अभिमत अघाइ॥ ७॥ रस एक, रहित-गुन-करम-काल। सिय राम लखन पालक कृपाल॥ ८॥ तुलसी जो राम पद चहिय प्रेम। सेइय गिरि करि निरुपाधि नेम॥ ९॥
Chitrakut releases every sorrow: a tree that destroys Kali and produces blessedness. (1) The pure and lovely earth is its planting basin; the wondrous forest is its immense enclosure. (2) Mandakini, its gardener, waters it forever with excellent water, untouched even by vile, wicked men and women. (3) Beautiful peaks are its branches and trees its lovely leaves; cascades are sweet nectar, and the gentle Malaya breeze its softness. (4) Excellent sages dwelling there are its parrots, cuckoos and bees; spiritual practices are its blossoms, and the four aims its lovely fruits. (5) Its pleasure-giving shade dispels the terrible heat of becoming; Janaki's Lord established its power forever. (6) Fortunate spiritual travellers who find it obtain their many desired ends and are satisfied. (7) It is ever of one essence, free from qualities, deeds and time; compassionate Sita, Rama and Lakshmana are its guardians. (8) Tulsidas, if you desire love for Rama's feet, serve this mountain with an unconditioned vow. (9)
