Victory, victory to the Goddess, Mother of the World, served by gods, humans, sages and demons; giver of enjoyment and liberation, fear-removing Kalika. Abode of auspiciousness, joy and attainments, full-moon-faced one, you are a garland of young sunbeams against the darkness of suffering. (1) Clad in armor, with shield and sword in hand, trident, spear, bow and arrows, you crush the hosts of demons upon the earth and are terrible in battle. You cast your net over Putana, fiends, ghosts, Dakinis and Shakinis, spirits, possessing powers, Vetalas, birds and beasts. (2) Victory to Mahesha's beloved, bearer of many forms and names, mistress of all worlds, daughter of the Snow Mountain. Be pleased and protect me, O guardian of those who bow; give Tulsi supreme love for Raghupati's feet - this is his unshakable vow. (3)
