Look, look: today Uma's beloved has become a forest, as though the spring season itself has come to see you. (1) The radiance of his body is a garland of champak flowers, and his excellent blue garment a fresh tamala tree. (2) His thighs are graceful plantain trunks and his feet red lotuses; his waist suggests a lion and his gait a swan. (3) His ornaments are flowers of many colors, and the sweet ringing of his anklets is birdsong. (4) His hands are fresh bakul shoots and mango leaves, his breasts bilva fruits, and his bodice a net of vines. (5) His face is a lotus, his hair a humming swarm of bees, and his great eyes fresh blue lotuses. (6) His speech is the cuckoo, his conduct the splendid peacock and parrot; his smile white flowers and his play the breeze. (7) Listen, wise Shiva, says Tulsidas: the five-arrowed Love has settled in my heart and created this display. (8) Show grace and remove the snare of delusive desire, so that Rama, treasury of bliss, may dwell in my heart. (9)
