English Translation

Beyond this, we have no other desire. Who babbles on about other things in vain? Pleasure itself ise same as pain, and merit the same as sin: this much has become clear to us.

What it means

Tukaram states the end of all wanting in a few lines. Apart from this one thing, his devotion, he needs nothing, and he brushes aside all the busy talk that chases after other goods as idle babble. Then he names what he has seen: pleasure and pain turn out to be the same, and so do merit and sin. He is not preaching this as theory; he says it has simply become clear, the settled fruit of his experience. Once the pairs that drive ordinary life lose their pull, there is nothing left to chase but God.
