English Translation

The Sadguru gave me his blessing, and joy filled my mind. The Guru understood the feeling in my mind and spoke to me with delight and exuberance. The Guru spoke to me with grace. Says Tuka, my mind is overflowing with bliss.

We ask forgiveness for any inaccuracies in rendering Tukaram ji’s original Marathi.

In Plain Words

The Sadguru gave me his blessing, and joy filled my heart. The Guru understood the feeling in my heart and spoke to me with delight and gladness. The Guru spoke to me, showing his grace. Tuka says: in my mind I have become full of bliss.

What it means

This is the joy that follows the surrender: the Guru gives his blessing, and Tukaram's heart fills up at once. He marks that the Guru did not need to be told anything; he read the feeling in the heart and answered it with his own delight. The grace is mutual and wordless before it is spoken. Tukaram ends simply reporting his state, that his mind has overflowed with bliss, leaving the cause squarely with the Guru's grace and not with anything he himself did.
