English Translation

The servants of Hari possess an easy secret: all duties are fulfilled at His feet. God is at their hip, carried upon their shoulders; the company of the faithful is their playground. Everything is accomplished through this simple exchange; the profit of devotion never runs out. Says Tuka, our minds are forever at peace.

We ask forgiveness for any inaccuracies in rendering Tukaram ji’s original Marathi.

In Plain Words

For the servants of Hari the secret is easy: at his feet every duty is fulfilled. God is on their hip, carried on their shoulders. The company of the faithful is their playground. Everything gets done by this simple exchange. The profit of it never runs short. Tuka says: our minds are always at peace.

What it means

Tukaram describes the path of Hari's servants as the easy one, where bowing at God's feet completes every religious duty at once. The intimacy is domestic and tender, God carried like a child on the hip or shoulder, the gathering of devotees treated as a playground rather than a labor. He frames it as an exchange that always yields and never runs dry, so there is no anxiety about loss. The plain conclusion is the fruit of all this: the mind of such a servant rests permanently at peace.
