Fresh English translation

The name becomes complete Śambhu, before whose vision the world is dissolved; it becomes fire, reducing good and evil karma to ash. Between its two poles it is the sun that destroys delusion's night and brings knowledge; at the end it is the moon, giving contentment and peace and removing the heat of pride and other afflictions. The name is the divine river whose cause is the Bhagiratha of love. It travels through Brahmā's world, the divine middle realm, the triple peak, the netherworld, and the pathway of the tongue. Gaṅgā, Sarasvatī, and Yamunā meet again as the confluence of awareness; bathing there removes the three guṇas and three afflictions and grants devotion to Hari. The name is the one boat and the one wind; filling the hands with bhakti, rare saints make a true guru and set out to cross the world. The peaceful, contented mind is Citrakūṭa, desire is stilled in its forest, and love for Rāma, Sītā, and Lakṣmaṇa is the Mandākinī held there as a household vow. The word is divided into its spiritual, half, syllabic, half-measure, haṃsa, and Brahman aspects; hear further divisions and the name's glory, through which Rāmacaraṇa beholds every happiness arising of itself. The paired letters are the full moon filling the heart with love's nectar; the community of saints is the ocean, while knowledge is the serpent-lord with Lakṣmī and Hari. The Lord is the root of dharma's tree, the divine pair its petals and flowers, and rasa its true substance. In the ocean of becoming the poet has reached both shores, which save him from drowning. The next stanza begins to map kindred souls as birds, delusion as night, bhakti as a parasol, revelation as a crown, and other features; it continues on the next page.
