शेष वेद संवाद बर अगुन सगुन को बाप । कहौं सुचनिका सुमति विधि श्रीमहाराज प्रताप ॥५॥ सन्त शास्त्र बहु स्वाद ले श्रुति संहिता प्रमाण । वस्तु अमित शुभ पात्र लघु जानहिं परम सुजान ॥६॥ ॥ रोला छन्द ॥ एक समय श्रुति चार ब्रह्मपुर करहिं विचारा । ब्रह्म निरूपन करहिं सगुन निर्गुन निरुवारा । गुष्टि परस्पर भई बोध थल वेगि न पाये । कहेउ अथर्वण वेद चारि अहिपति पै आये ॥१॥ अस्तुति करि बहु भांति अपन तन प्रगट दिखाये । निज संदेह अनेक भांति कहि प्रभुहि सुनाये । परम धाम पर रूप मन्त्र पर सब रस जानहुँ । अक्षर गुन अरु अगुन शब्द के रूप बखानहु ॥२॥ जय अनन्त भगवन्त गुह्य पर गुह्य सुनावहु । बिनु पूछे बिनु जान जान सब निज मुख गावहु । सुनि अनन्त विज्ञान ध्यान जनु सोवत जागेउ । रूप सच्चिदानन्द भक्तिबल वरनन लागेउ ॥३॥ साम आदि श्रुति धन्य धन्य मैं कह सुनहु तू । खल विषई परइष्ट वादिरत कुटिल गुनव तू । तिन कहुँ यह नहिं देव प्राण अरु धर देव वरु । कहौं सुनहु चित लाइ जथा मति ब्रह्म भक्ति घरु ॥४॥

(5) I shall briefly tell of the excellent dialogue between Śeṣa and the Vedas, concerning the father of both the unqualified and qualified; this is the gracious wisdom and majesty of the great king. (6) Saints taste many scriptures and take the Śruti and Saṃhitās as authority; the reality is boundless, while this vessel is small—only the supremely wise understand it. In rolā meter: (1) Once the four Vedas deliberated in Brahmā's city. They examined Brahman, qualified and unqualified, but their mutual discussion could not quickly reach the ground of awakening. At Atharvan's urging, the four came before the serpent-lord. (2) They praised him, manifested their own embodied forms, and presented their many doubts: “Tell us of the supreme abode, supreme form, supreme mantra, and every rasa; explain the forms of the imperishable, the qualified and unqualified, and sound.” (3) “Victory to the Infinite Lord! Reveal the secret beyond secrets; without being asked and without reserve, sing all that you know from your own mouth.” Hearing them, Infinite Knowledge awoke as if from meditation and began, through devotion's power, to describe the form of Being-Consciousness-Bliss. (4) He tells the Sāma and the other Vedas to listen: this teaching is not for the wicked, sense-bound, quarrelsome, or crooked. “Attend with your mind; according to my ability I shall tell the abode of devotion to Brahman.”
