Ram and Lakshmana ask the gardeners and begin gathering flower petals with joyful attention. At that same moment Sita enters, sent by her mother to worship Girija, surrounded by wise and beautiful companions singing enchanting songs.
Near the lake stands Gauri's temple, captivating beyond description. Sita bathes with her friends, enters the shrine with joy, and worships deeply, asking for a beautiful husband suited to her nature.
One companion wanders from the group to see the flower garden. There she discovers the dark and fair brothers. Love overwhelms her at the sight, and she hurries back toward Sita carrying wonder her body cannot hide.
Sita asks Girija for her destined husband while Ram gathers flowers only a garden away.
Read the passage from the Manas
Looking in all four directions and asking the gardeners, with happy hearts they began picking leaves and flowers. At that very moment, Sita arrived there. Her mother had sent her to worship Girija (Parvati) at the temple within the garden.
