Ram and Lakshmana behold the garden and its central lake. Jewelled steps descend through reflected foliage toward clear water and lotus colour.
The Lord himself feels delight. Beauty created within his own universe returns through flower, bird, breeze, and careful human tending to please the One from whom beauty first arose.
The garden is called supremely lovely because it gives joy even to Ram. Its deepest ornament has not yet entered sight. Sita is approaching the same lake, and the landscape holds its breath between two arrivals. Lotus fragrance rests upon the clear water.
Ram delights in the garden, while its loveliest vision walks toward him unseen.

बागु तड़ागु बिलोकि प्रभु हरषे बंधु समेत। परम रम्य आरामु यहु जो रामहि सुख देत।।227।।
Seeing the garden and the lake, the Lord was delighted along with His brother. "Supremely lovely is this garden, that it gives joy even to Rama Himself."
