The returning companion does not need to announce that something extraordinary has happened. Her skin thrills, tears gather in her eyes, and joy changes the rhythm of her breath.
Sita and the other friends see the condition and ask gently for its cause. What sight in the flower garden could have entered her so completely?
The question opens the final distance between Sita and Ram. One witness has looked upon the princes and come back transformed. Her body becomes the first message, carrying darshan before names or description can follow.
Before she speaks, tears and trembling tell Sita that wonder waits among the flowers.
Read the passage from the Manas
तासु दसा देखि सखिन्ह पुलक गात जलु नैन। कहु कारनु निज हरष कर पूछहि सब मृदु बैन।।228।।
Seeing her condition, her friends, their bodies thrilling and tears welling in their eyes, asked gently: "Tell us the reason for your joy."
