At Vasishtha's door, Ram sees citizens burning in separation. He consoles them, gathers the Brahmins, and with the guru's permission gives each a full year's provisions.
The needy receive gifts, friends receive pure affection, and servants and maidservants are placed with folded hands beneath Vasishtha's parental care.
Ram defines his true well-wisher as the one who keeps Dasharatha peaceful. At the moment of losing home, he attends to every person who depends upon it. Forest renunciation does not mean neglect; it widens responsibility through careful entrustment before he goes.
Before leaving with nothing, Ram ensures that everyone entrusted to his house will continue to be cared for.

निकसि बसिष्ठ द्वार भए ठाढ़े। देखे लोग बिरह दव दाढ़े।। कहि प्रिय बचन सकल समुझाए। बिप्र बृंद रघुबीर बोलाए।। गुर सन कहि बरषासन दीन्हे। आदर दान बिनय बस कीन्हे।। जाचक दान मान संतोषे। मीत पुनीत प्रेम परितोषे।। दासीं दास बोलाइ बहोरी। गुरहि सौंपि बोले कर जोरी।। सब कै सार सँभार गोसाईं। करबि जनक जननी की नाई।। बारहिं बार जोरि जुग पानी। कहत रामु सब सन मृदु बानी।। सोइ सब भाँति मोर हितकारी। जेहि तें रहै भुआल सुखारी।।
Emerging, he stood at Vasishtha's door and saw the people burning in the wildfire of separation. Speaking loving words, he consoled everyone. Then Raghuvira called the assembly of Brahmins. With the Guru's leave, he gave them each a year's provisions, and won them over with honor, gifts, and humility. The needy were satisfied with gifts and respect. Friends were gladdened with pure, holy love. Then, calling the servants and maidservants, he entrusted them to the Guru with folded hands. "O Master, care for everyone as a father and mother would." Again and again joining both palms, Rama spoke to all in gentle words: "That person is my true well-wisher in every way, by whose care the king remains at peace."
