Ram Entrusts His Mothers to the Citizens

Ram turns to Ayodhya's wise citizens and asks for their active care. His mothers must not be allowed to sink into desolation after his departure.
The request makes the whole city part of the royal household. Maternal grief becomes a shared civic duty rather than private palace sorrow.
Ram cannot remain to console them, but he can awaken compassion in those who will. His absence is prepared through relationship: guru becomes parent to servants, citizens become support to queens, and love is distributed so no bereaved heart stands entirely alone.
Unable to stay beside his mothers, Ram places their grieving hearts within the care of Ayodhya.

मातु सकल मोरे बिरहँ जेहिं न होहिं दुख दीन। सोइ उपाउ तुम्ह करेहु सब पुर जन परम प्रबीन।।80।।
"O most wise citizens, please do everything you can so that all my mothers do not become grief-stricken and desolate in separation from me."
