—The inept fool, intoxicated by Māyā and pride like a rutting elephant, heeds neither the guru's words nor knowledge. He has not become Rāma's servant, has not looked to Hanumān, Rāma's servant, nor to Rāma's abode and the waves of Sarayū. Rasarangamaṇi says that the drum itself beats out ‘shame, shame’ upon those who have no love for Rāma's name. (105) Blessed is the person who regards another's wealth as stone and another's wife as a mother; who will not speak falsely even when life is in danger; and who abandons violence, hostility, delusion, and grave faults. Embracing equality, contentment, and holy company, Rasarangamaṇi becomes steeped in love and filled with affection for the Name. To the person in whose heart Sītā and her Beloved dwell, I offer thanks and a thousand bows. (106) The Vedas sing of one who meets even the poor; in the three-footed age of Kali, giving is the support of dharma. See how he becomes subject to the lowly, speaking softly and with great love even when they give him only a little. Although called the Lord's avatāra, Raghurāja receives from both small and great yet remains the generous giver. Therefore, Rasarangamaṇi, give according to your means: in this world giving is the one constant. (107) Who in this world is as base as I—deceitful, angry, deluded, fallen, sinful, lustful? Yet let me dwell in Ayodhyā, your abode, and repeat your name, though I lack true love for it. I beg and seek refuge; grasp this fleeing mind, delightful Lord. Master, Lord of Sītā, indwelling knower, I, Rasaranga, bow and bow again. (108) Sleeping, I squander my life, yet I do not weep in separation, O Lord of the earth. I sing while bearing the load of sins and faults; how worthless is that proud conceit of knowledge! Bowing my head, I acknowledge my faults; accept me within and make me your follower. Master, Lord of Sītā, indwelling knower, I, Rasaranga, bow and bow again. (109) Raghunandana, show beautiful compassion to your servant Rasarangamaṇi—
