मुनिबर करि छठी कीन्हीं बारहेंकी रीति। बन-बसन पहिराइई तापस, तोषि पोषे प्रीति॥ १ ॥ नामकरन सुअन्नप्रासन बेद बाँधी नीति। समय सब रिषिराज करत समाज साज समीति॥ २ ॥ बाल लालहिं, कहहिं ‘करिहैं राज सब जग जीति’। राम-सिय-सुत, गुर-अनुग्रह, उचित, अचल प्रतीति॥ ३ ॥ निरखि बाल-बिनोद तुलसी जात बासर बीति। पिय-चरित-सिय-चित-चितेरो लिखत नित हित-भीति॥ ४ ॥
The great sage performed the sixth-day observance and then the twelfth-day rite, clothing ascetics in forest garments and satisfying and sustaining them with love. (1) At the proper times the king of sages assembled the community and all that was needed to perform the Vedic disciplines of naming, first feeding, and the other rites. (2) Caressing the boys, people said, “They will conquer the whole world and reign.” They were Rāma and Sītā's sons and possessed the guru's grace; such unwavering confidence was fitting. (3) Tulsī says Sītā's days passed in watching the children's play, yet the painter of her mind continually portrayed the deeds of her beloved upon the wall of love. (4)
