Dear one, until I have lived four days in the forest and learned the sages' way, you yourself must carefully understand, refine, and present my petition. (1) What message of entreaty could I, now an ascetic woman, send to kings? Yet I trust that, just as before, some benevolent holy person will come and speak in my favor. (2) Compassionate Lakṣmaṇa, do not suddenly cast me from memory. Regard it as royal duty and continue to care for me as you would all the women ascetics. (3) Hearing Sītā's words, every eye released a stream of tears. Tulsī says even Vālmīki could not master himself before such love. (4)
